UK law firm Richards Butler has said it intends to merge with Reed Smith of the US creating a combined practice with over 100 corporate and finance lawyers in the UK.

The combined firm, to be known as Reed Smith, will have 1,300 lawyers worldwide. In a joint statement, the combined firm predicted it would earn annual revenues of $725m (€590m).
