Lehman strengthens Switzerland and Italy

Lehman Brothers stepped up its presence in continental Europe after appointing two senior bankers to run its fixed income business in Italy and securing a team of four senior equity salesmen from Goldman Sachs to head equity and derivatives sales in Switzerland.

The Italian hires include Giovanni Marolda, who rejoins the US bank from Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein as co-head of fixed income in Italy.
