L&G’s Oxford property project subject to planning delay

Land designated for new student and staff accommodation does not yet have planning permission

The £4bn property partnership between Legal and General, the insurer, and the University of Oxford could hit a stumbling block, as the land designated for part of the project is subject to a planning dispute.

The joint venture was announced last month. Legal & General Capital will work with the university over the next decade to build student and staff accommodation, as well as science and innovation districts within Oxford.
