Tax evaders admit to Liechtenstein accounts

A tax treaty between the UK and Liechtenstein has yielded the names of more than 1,500 potential tax evaders

A tax agreement between the UK and Liechtenstein has been hailed a success after it resulted in more than 1,500 wealthy individuals owning up to having previously undeclared offshore assets.

Tax and banking experts speaking at a seminar in London last night said there has been a recent surge in compliance since the Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility took effect in 2009.
