Liquidnet to begin dark pool trading of Thai stocks

The firm is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia, where it executes around 10% of Asian trades

Global institutional trading network Liquidnet is extending its "dark pool" platform to include Thai stocks, expanding its presence in Southeast Asia where it executes around 10% of Asian trades.

Dark pools refer to off-exchange trading which doesn't always require bids or offers to be published before transactions. This enables fund managers to shield trading intentions when executing large orders, which in small markets would otherwise move share prices.
