Lloyds Banking Group and Barclays have been commended by a UK charity for working parents for their initiatives to help employees, at a time when the City is under pressure to improve gender equality.

Working Families, which helps parents and carers find a better work-life balance, has awarded its first-ever Best Returner Programme Award to Lloyds, according to a statement late on Wednesday.
