Lloyds TSB is preparing a multi-billion pound securitisation of its UK residential mortgages, the first deal of its kind for the lender. The offering follows Royal Bank of Scotland's record European deal last month.

Lloyds will sell the deal, called Arkle 2006-1, later this month following investor roadshows that end on October 20.
