Local authority pension funds ahead of corporates on SRI

Local authority pension funds are more pro-active than company pension funds when implementing ethical policies in their statement of investment principles, according to the UK Social Investment Forum (UKSIF).

A survey, conducted by the Imperial College on behalf of UKSIF, found that while 71% of local authority pension funds incorporate socially responsible investing (SRI) issues in their investment statements, only 23% of company pension funds have done likewise.
