For anyone in the City casting around for signs that Britain is still open for business in the wake of the Brexit vote, news of a £344 million expansion programme for London City Airport will be just the ticket.
UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond, together with Transport Secretary Chris Grayling and Communities Secretary Sajid Javid, announced the go-ahead for the expansion programme at the airport in a statement on July 27, with Hammond hailing the plans as a "clear signal" that Britain is open for business.
