Lord Mayor: Stop casting the City as a villain

The City's financial powerhouses can play a key role in levelling up, Nicholas Lyons will say

The Lord Mayor of the City of London has called on politicians not to cast the City as "the villain in our national story" and harness the capital's financial services to boost regional equality.

"A strong Square Mile – and strong financial and professional services sector – will only support levelling up across the UK," Nicholas Lyons, former chair of insurer Phoenix Group, will tell the London Government Dinner on 12 January.
