Martin Currie, the Edinburgh-based fund manager, has acquired a team of Japan hedge fund managers who run money for the investment trust chaired by Lord Rothschild.

Paul Kirkby, who has more than 30 years experience in Japanese investments, and his co-manager Paul Smith are joining the Edinburgh-based asset manager, according to a statement by Martin Currie issued November 17.
