Lawyer predicts establishment of UK-listed super SIV

The London Stock Exchange has launched a market with light-touch regulation for alternative investment funds in the latest challenge to rival NYSE Euronext, which has so far taken the lion's share of listed funds.

A European law firm predicted the move will pave the way for a UK-listed super structured investment vehicle to invest in distressed debt in the aftermath of the summer's credit crunch.
