Luxembourg authorities investigate Clearstream

Clearstream, the European settlement agency which is 50% owned by Deutsche Börse, has said it will cooperate fully with the formal investigation into alleged illegal activities launched by the Luxembourg public prosecutor.

The investigation by Carlos Zeyen, a state prosecutor, relates to allegations of money-laundering published in a book this year called Revelation$. The book, written by a French journalist with the assistance of Ernest Backes, a former Clearstream insider, alleged that Clearstream operated secret accounts that provided a front for illegal activity.
