A proposed overhaul of asset management regulations by the European financial regulator would create a "double layer" of costly supervision, a lobby group in the continent's largest fund domicile has claimed.

The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry has voiced anger over proposals to change rules that permit asset managers to base stock-picking staff outside the EU while domiciling their products within the bloc.
