Mack appoints two lieutenants

John Mack, chief executive of Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), has promoted Brian Finn and Brady Dougan as co-presidents of institutional securities, responsible for the daily running of equity, fixed income, investment banking and private equity.

Mack said he needed deputies since his job was expanded to co-chief executive of the Credit Suisse Group with Oswald Grübel when Lukas Mühlemann was ousted last month. He added that they were necessary to ensure CSFB returned to profitability and built shareholder value.
