Macquarie fund reaches €750m

The Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund, a specialist fund part-owned by Australia's Macquarie Bank, has raised €750m ($976m) from investors and is in line to reach its €1bn closing target later this year.

The fund, which invests in utility and transport businesses throughout Europe, was launched last April and has proved a popular capital destination for institutional investors and pension plans looking for long-term, cash-generating alternative assets.
