Outgoing Bank of England governor Mark Carney was paid £550,000 by the Bank of England last year, despite only working 14 full days for the central bank.

Carney received £443,965 in salary, benefits, and pension contributions, and £113,821 in relocation expenses to move him and his family back to Ottawa in Canada, the Bank’s annual report showed — a pay packet eight times higher than the average across the Bank of England's workforce.
