‘Markets on steroids’ send US hedge funds soaring past European counterparts

Markets propped up by the Fed have helped US hedge funds over their rivals in Europe and Asia

US-based hedge funds, particularly systematic funds and commodity trading advisers, fared worse than Europe early on during the pandemic.

Now the tables have turned — thanks to policy efforts by the US Federal Reserve that resulted in giddy market highs on Wall Street.
