Markit sets up in New York

Markit, the credit and credit derivatives data provider formerly called Mark-it Partners, has opened its first office outside London in a move aimed at strengthening its US presence.

Markit, which is headed globally by chief executive Lance Uggla and is backed by several banks including ABN Amro, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and UBS, has set up an office in New York under the leadership of Kevin Gould.
