Martin Currie, the independent asset management company, has brought its recent hiring spree to a close with the appointment of Susan Smith, formerly at Prudential M&G Investments.

Smith will head Martin Currie's team of eight sector managers, who pick stocks for the company's product managers. The sector managers run dummy portfolios based on their recommendations, against which their performance and remuneration are calculated.
