Martin Currie, the Edinburgh-based fund manager, captured business totalling a record £2.7bn (€3.9bn) in its financial year ending in September.

Its record was £1.8bn, achieved in the previous financial year. Of this year's total, around £2bn comprises institutional work and £700m was won from hedge fund and retail strategies.
