Martin Currie loses key Japanese manager

Martin Currie has lost the services of Keith Donaldson, key lieutenant to Michael Thomas, whose Japanese equity retail funds are rated frAAA by Standard & Poor's Fund Services.

Donaldson, aged 42, has been hired as managing director of Japanese sales at Merrill Lynch. He used to be head of Japanese sales at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter before joining Martin Currie four years ago.
