AssetCo, the deal making company headed by City veteran Martin Gilbert, has agreed a takeover deal with the board of River and Mercantile Group — the UK fund management business where he is also deputy chair.

The companies announced on 25 January that they had agreed a takeover of RMG by AssetCo.
