Massachusetts puts SSgA on watch

The $36bn (€27bn) Massachusetts state pension fund is understood to be monitoring State Street Global Advisors following the departure of two senior executives. State Street manages over $10bn in equity index funds for the scheme.

State Street has lost its chief investment officer, Alan Brown, and its UK managing director, Nigel Wightman, in the space of a month. The company has said there were no immediate plans to replace the pair.
