MBA Lazard boosts central America team

MBA Lazard, the Latin America-focussed investment bank, has hired Enrique Cañas to act as a managing director, based in Bogota, Colombia. From Bogota, Cañas will have client coverage responsibility for Colombia, Central America and the Caribbean. He joined MBA Lazard from the International Finance Corporation , where he was regional country manager for Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia. Prior to joining IFC in 2004, Cañas spent three years as chief executive of Banco Uno, a leading Central American financial group, and was a leading mover in its sale to Citigroup in 2006.
