The captain, or the “Iron Condor Whale” as he’s known to others, first cruised into the imaginations of individual investors last year, when some had noticed the multimillion-dollar bets placed on options tied to the S&P 500 index. Soon, those market-moving trades began to attract nicknames and a cadre of fellow options traders determined to reveal the captain’s identity.
