Meet the new head of wealth at Barclays

Peter Horrell, currently responsible for about a third of the bank's wealth division, is to succeed Tom Kalaris, who is retiring

Peter Horrell, the new interim chief executive of Barclays' Wealth and Investment Management division, brings a background in international and offshore banking for the wealthy to his new role.

Barclays is three years into "Project Gamma", a £350m programme to build out its wealth-management division as an alternative profit-motor to Bob Diamond's investment bank. The firm has said it wants to double its roster of wealth advisers from 650 three years ago to 1300 by the end of 2014.
