Mercer has rehired a well-regarded consultant to oversee its own alternative investment team, as multimanagers target demand for non-traditional assets

Investment consultancy Mercer has rehired a senior consultant to a newly-created role at the head of its global alternatives alpha team, as multimanagers around the world push into non-traditional asset classes to take advantage of increased demand.

Bill Muysken will become chief investment officer for alternative alpha strategies in Mercer's investment management business later this month, according to a statement from the company published yesterday.
