Mercer measures its own added value

William M Mercer, the investment consultant, has published a study addressing the quality of its value-added services, at a time of heightened criticism regarding the lack of transparency among consultants.

The numbers show how much value the consultant can add for its clients through its recommendations on investment managers. Mercer said that the numbers are not audited by an independent third party, but one pension fund source said it is still a good first step towards increased transparency.
