Merrill Lynch gives Tamagnini helm in Italy

Merrill Lynch has promoted Maurizio Tamagnini to the newly-created position of managing director and head of its business in Italy. The bank has also named him vice-chairman of European investment banking.

He joined Merrill in 1990 and has since held various positions in New York, London and Milan. In his new role, he will be responsible for integrating the origination business in Italy and extending into new areas of business.
