Merrill Lynch has appointed its investment banking chairman in Germany, Andreas von Buddenbrock, to head its growing international private client group in the country.

Merrill has been concentrating on building up its investment management franchise for wealthy individuals to the same level as it holds in the US, where it is one of the leading money managers for private clients.
