Merrill Lynch has incorporated its corporate broking team into its equity capital markets (ECM) division in a move designed to bolster the US firm's long-term advisory relationships outside the UK.

The broking division, which formerly sat between equities and investment banking but reported to the latter, had its first day under the ECM umbrella on Monday.
