Michael Spencer to chair think-tank founded by Margaret Thatcher

He succeeds Lord Saatchi, the advertising guru, who has held the position for a decade

Michael Spencer, the City grandee and founder of Nex Group, has been appointed the new chair of the Centre for Policy Studies, an influential right-wing think-tank founded by former prime minister Margaret Thatcher.

He succeeds Lord Saatchi, the advertising guru, who has held the position for a decade. Spencer will take up the role immediately, the organisation said a statement on 6 January.
