Middle market deals prove resilient

Two private equity transactions announced Tuesday and Wednesday demonstrate the continued resilience of the middle market this year as larger deals struggle to gain traction in the wake of the credit crunch.

Mid-market private equity firm Boston Ventures, which focuses on the entertainment and publishing industries, announced today it has taken an undisclosed stake in Petty Enterprises, the company that manages the Nascar driving team of Richard Petty.
