Kay Swinburne, the Conservative MEP who has played a central role in scrutinisng Europe's new trading rulebook, is to take a top advisory role at Michael Spencer's NEX Group.

Swinburne will chair a new think-tank called NEX Reg being set up by the group's post-trade services arm, where she will be tasked with providing an "independent voice" on regulatory issues affecting the industry.
