Alan Miller, the former chief investment officer of New Star Asset Management who was sent on sabbatical in September last year, has left the firm by mutual agreement.

Miller joined New Star at launch in 2001. He had previously worked for Jupiter Asset Management, where he was head of the specialist UK investment team. New Star said he was leaving to pursue other opportunities.
