Mindich turns to Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley

Eric Mindich, the former Goldman Sachs star banker who plans to launch a $3bn (€2.4bn) hedge fund, has appointed Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to act as the fund's prime brokers.

Investment banking sources said Eton Park Capital Management, Mindich's new firm, had appointed the two banks, which are the leading providers of prime brokerage services to hedge funds. Their services include borrowing stocks to allow hedge fund managers to sell stocks short.
