Given the Government's desire for pension reform in recent years, Gordon Brown today missed out on an opportunity to boost the membership of occupational pension schemes.

Of the 'bland' budget, Raja Mody of Bacon & Woodrow, said: 'It is a shame he missed the opportunity not to propose simpler regulations that would encourage more people to join occupational pension schemes which is the best way in which most people can save for retirement.'
