Mizuho taps ex-Citi executive as head of investment bank in Europe

Appointment of former Citi Moscow chief Slava Slavinskiy caps a spate of recent hiring

Mizuho has hired a former Citi executive to lead its investment bank in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the latest top recruit for the Japanese bank as it pushes for more business outside its home market.

Slava Slavinskiy is due to begin his job in August. He will report directly to the chief executive of Mizuho International, Suneel Bakhshi, as well as Yasuto Hamanishi, the global head of the investment bank.
