Monks sharply critical of 'new look' Royal Dutch Shell

Bob Monks, the founder of Institutional Shareholder Services, the world's largest shareholder activist, has dismissed the recent corporate governance reforms at Royal Dutch Shell as "a case of form beating substance."

Speaking at the Financial News awards for excellence in institutional asset management, Monks said: "I don't think any individual should be confused that they have done anything different. It's a case of form beating substance."
