The leadership team at digital bank Monzo went through a range of options with founder Tom Blomfield to lighten his work load because he had become "stifled" by regulatory duties, according to the lender's non-executive director Eileen Burbidge.
Blomfield stepped down as chief executive of the start-up earlier this week to assume the newly-created role of president.
