It has been a busy time at Morgan Stanley Capital International. Egypt and Morocco have just been welcomed into the MSCI emerging markets index fold while Greece has been given the green light to join the developed market index, the ACWI Free series, effective May 31, 2001.

Egypt's Khermes Index jumped 3.75% on hearing the news of its entry into the Emerging Markets Free Index (EMF) and the MSCI All Country World Index (ACWI) Free series. Large cap stocks Mobile Service, Commercial International Bank and Media Production City all posted 5% gains.
