Morgan Stanley has strengthened its reach of its global financial institutions group with the appointments of five managing directors, according to a memo seen by Financial News.

Maurice Marchesini will join from Merrill Lynch, and will begin his new appointment on October 8. He will be based in Los Angeles, and will work closely with Dan Ewell to expand the coverage of financial institutions group on the US west coast.
