Morgan Stanley buys private client provider Quilter

Morgan Stanley Dean Witter is set to buy Quilter Holdings, the private client company majority owned by UK insurer CGNU.

Morgan Stanley is paying £172m (€276bn) for Quilter, with its majority holder CGNU receiving cash together with CCF Holdings. The directors and staff of Quilter, who are minority holders, will receive a combination of cash and Morgan Stanley shares.
