Morgan Stanley extends lead in equities trading

The bank was well ahead of BAML in Markit’s closely-watched European Broker Rankings at the end of the first half of 2014

Morgan Stanley has increased its lead in European cash equities trading, putting a considerable gap between it and Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the first half of this year.

The US firm traded client volumes worth €815 billion in the first six months of 2014, well ahead of BAML's €606 billion and UBS's €545 billion, according to the latest data from financial information services company Markit.
