Morgan Stanley earnings: Late bond blues and other takeaways

Morgan Stanley missed analyst expectations in the final three months of 2018, suffering bigger falls in fixed income revenues than any of its US banking rivals.

The bank closed off Wall Street's fourth-quarter reporting season on January 17 with figures that showed annual growth across its main businesses of investment banking, wealth management and investment management. But revenues still came in below analyst estimates.
