Morgan Stanley is trying to revive its flagship real-estate programme after suffering huge losses during the financial crisis.

The investment firm's real-estate unit, Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, or Msref, is gearing up to raise a $1bn to $3bn global property fund, say people familiar with the discussions.
