Morgan Stanley has topped the global equity capital markets rankings for the first time, beating arch-rival Goldman Sachs into second place, according to preliminary figures from Dealogic, the investment banking research firm.

Morgan Stanley also topped the ECM rankings in both the US and Europe, Middle East and Africa.
