Morgan Stanley tells staff ‘jobs are secure’ in 2020

CEO James Gorman moves to reassure staff about job security amid the uncertain business outlook brought on by Covid-19

Morgan Stanley has promised its employees that their “jobs are secure” this year as expectations grow that large banks will be forced to make cuts to their workforces because of pressures brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

In a 26 March memo to staff seen by Financial News, Morgan Stanley’s chief executive, James Gorman, said there would be no job losses at the bank in 2020.
