Morgan Stanley's fixed income traders comfortably beat their Wall Street rivals for growth in the first quarter, posting a near doubling of revenues over the period.

The bank was the last of Wall Street’s big names to report first-quarter earnings today, with the group topline rising from $7.8 billion a year ago to $9.7 billion. Net profit was up from $1.1 billion to $1.9 billion.
